Our Story
Countywide Produce Market was born out of a season of change—and a commitment to family, health, and community. After running his auto parts store for decades, Eddie Cooper made the decision to retire in 2022 as large online retailers made it increasingly difficult for small, local businesses to compete. Around the same time, his son-in-law, Rusty Hurley, faced a serious health scare that changed everything. After suffering a stroke and undergoing heart procedures, Rusty and his wife Andrea knew it was time to slow down, stay closer to home, and reimagine their future.
Freshness & Elegance
With deep roots in produce markets—both his grandfather and uncle worked in the business—Rusty turned to what he knew best. Together, Andrea and Rusty took a leap of faith and opened Countywide Produce Market, creating a place where fresh food, family, and community come first. The market also gave Eddie a new way to stay involved, doing what he loves most: working with fresh produce and sharing it with others.

Today, Countywide Produce Market proudly serves Knox County with a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, specialty goods, and seasonal favorites—all offered with the same care and personal touch that inspired its beginning. What started as a necessary change has grown into a local gathering place, built on resilience, tradition, and a genuine love for serving the community.
